Stell

Matt Stell is a country singer-songwriter built for the long road. A decade of writing rooms, touring, and stage time have shaped a sound that reads as plainspoken on the page and full-throated through a PA — a hangdog warmth that lives somewhere between front-porch storyteller and bar-band frontman.

His catalog has earned him a loyal fan base across country radio and streaming, with songs that earn their way into a setlist the old way: one verse, one bridge, one chorus that lands. Stell joined the Black River roster in 2026 on a multi-album deal, with a debut single under the new partnership targeted for late summer.

When he's not on the road, you'll find him cutting at Sound Stage or Ronnie's Place — Black River's historic Music Row studios — alongside the writers and producers who make the label feel like itself.
